Designed by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta in the 1960s, this Finnish silver brooch is a striking modernist piece with an architectural edge. The sculptural form features sweeping, tapered arms and sharply defined cutouts, drawing the eye toward a bezel-set smoky quartz cabochon suspended at the base. The balance of polished silver and translucent stone creates a strong sense of movement and depth while keeping the silhouette clean and refined.
This piece is an excellent example of Kauppi’s signature style—forward-looking, minimalist, and rooted in precise craftsmanship. Kupittaan Kulta was among Finland’s leading midcentury jewelry houses, and Kauppi’s designs helped define the Nordic modernist jewelry movement.
