Antique Finnish silver brooch dating to 1909. A traditional ancient Finnish style with an open circular shape and long central pin.
There is lots of lovely hand engraved detail, with decoration around the outer edge and little geometric looped square (hannunvaakuna) designs around the inside and at each end. Made during the Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts period with a very Finnish take on the style.
Suomen Kultaseppa makers mark, Finnish crown mark, 813H for 813 grade silver, Turku city mark, date letter D5 for 1909
