This Kalevala Koru brooch takes inspiration from the intricate silver ring brooches worn by Sámi women in medieval Lapland. The original design comes from Inari in Finnish Lapland, where similar brooches were used both decoratively and symbolically.
Traditionally made in silver and gifted during engagements, these pieces were part of Sámi bridal dowries, representing connection and continuity. This bronze version, with its decorative lattice and suspended charms, honours that historic design with a wearable, everyday interpretation.
