This vintage sterling silver brooch by Kalevala Koru is a faithful interpretation of a medieval Finnish burial find known as the Lahden Solki. The openwork woven pattern references decorative motifs uncovered at Kirkk’ailanmäki, one of Finland’s most important medieval grave sites, active from the 11th to 14th centuries.
The original brooch style is associated with the early Christian period in southern Finland.
Size: 3.8cm diameter
