Based on a ancient Scandinavian design. Vintage Finnish bronze brooch by Kalevala Koru featuring the traditional Hannunvaakuna, or St John’s Arms. The continuous looping design was traditionally seen as a protective symbol, also linked with the four directions and the old belief in guardian spirits holding up the sky.
Size 3cm across.
Marked with Kalevala Koru Makers marks.
Wear commensurate with age.
